About Me

Going through High School and starting College, I thought I knew what I wanted to do. I had a definite plan, but life has a way of changing your mind for you. I was firmly convinced that I wanted to pursue theater and started down that road in college. However, it seemed no matter what show I was in, I was always giving people massages back stage, and the strange thing was that I enjoyed it. I loved seeing people's faces as they left my hands feeling more relaxed.

Eventually, I had a brief thought about going to massage school and learning how to do it right, and my boyfriend, now husband, strongly enouraged me to turn it into a reality. I enrolled in National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, completed their program in 2003, and started a new path.

That path has many turns that one can take. People have chosen careers in the resort spa industry, the sports environment, corporate on site work, or even cruise ships. Life chose for me to go a more clinical route myself. Massage studies have a strong emphasis in Kinesiology, and this helped me when my father had a stroke and needed Physical Therapy. I discovered through that experience that I truly enjoy Rehabilitation Therapy and Injury Management. I love being able to learn new things about the body that are constantly being discovered and using those skills to help clients through an injury, whether it is a car accident, or just sleeping wrong. If someone comes in hurting, I want to make them feel better with a massage that will have lasting effects.
